Oasis of Calm

Is it my imagination, or is that Liam Gallagher? That is what went through the minds of shocked staff at a New Forest Restaurant, as the former Oasis star walked through the door with his entourage, on route to the Isle of Wight Festival. The rock n' roll star stopped by at the Britannia Thai in Milford on Sea for a bite to eat with his manager and new band Beady Eye on Friday night, and was more than happy to pose for photos with excited staff and customers. They spent more than two hours in the High Street restaurant, choosing a house special for starters, then aromatic duck and spare rib pork, before enjoying coconut ice-cream for dessert. The owner of the family-run restaurant, Suhel Miah, said, "We received a booking for Gallagher just a few hours before and thought nothing of it, but when they turned up, we couldn't believe it. "With rockers, you hear about them trashing places, but he was lovely, happy to pose for a number of photos with anyone who asked, and flirting with the star-struck waitresses. "He said the food was excellent and they would be back as they liked the quiet and tranquility".
